PROVISION IN GOD’S VISION

“And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering? And Abraham said, My son, God will provide Himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together” GENESIS 22:7-8

“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work” 2 CORINTHIANS 9:8

It’s been great since we met God. We have not been able to completely understand the things He does, but who said that our finite understanding would anyway! Our faith has found a resting place in Him. All He said was to trust and obey, since then, it’s been an interesting journey. There’s been mountains and valleys, but through it all, we have learnt to trust and depend upon Him alone. As yet we still do not know what tomorrow may bring but one thing we know is, if He did it yesterday, He will do it tomorrow. Himself shall perfect what He’s begun already and bring it to a successful end. Faith in Him is the key. Faith became the norm, it became the way of living the day we joined His fold, “Now the just shall live by faith” HEBREWS 10:38. We have come this far by faith and not by sight, we have walked by faith without which no man can please God (HEBREWS 11:6). Talking about faith as a way of living, no man embodies that more than Abraham. He walked a complete life of faith from the day he met God. With Abraham, there was no buts and what ifs, he was sold out to a life of faith with God. This man’s obedience to the faith of God in my opinion was unparalleled  and he received a good report from God. He became as scripture says, a friend of God. The walk of faith will make a man blaze a trail unheard-of. It is what takes a man into the depths of God. Deep calls unto deep, and the Christians unflinching walk of faith will show him great and mighty things he knows not of. Faith in God will unlock the treasures of God’s kingdom and draw out supernatural provisions from God.

God’s sufficiency will always abound in every good work He sanctions, if we step out in faith and follow His lead. Every divine assignment has directions which defies all logic. Human reasoning have always found divine leading to be unreasonable, it has always found it to be foolishness. They are spiritually discerned and through the eyes of faith we see. Isaac asked a legitimate question. To him it was unreasonable to be travelling all the way to a place of sacrifice having everything in place but the most important part of the act which was the sacrificial lamb. Behold the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb, he asked? God will provide Himself a lamb for burnt offering was the answer Abraham gave him. It was an assignment by God and He had to make the provision. I know most of us may be thinking that this answer was given Isaac to actually hide the fact he was that sacrifice. You may think that it was a trick pulled by Abraham to conceal the actual truth, after all God asked him to sacrifice his son. The truth is, he believed exactly what he told his son, he knew he will return from the mountain with his son alive no matter the outcome even if God truly had him for the sacrifice, “By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure” HEBREWS 11:17-19. There is no question about the fact that he believed God would provide Himself a lamb in place of his son. The eyes of faith sees what the natural eyes can’t see. I will give you another proof of his sincerity in the answer he gave to his son, and the fact that he meant exactly what he said. Hear what he told the men that came with him, ” And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you” GENESIS 22:5. What did he say? we are going to worship (sacrifice to God) and come again (both of them) to you. He had faith in God’s supernatural provision, lo and behold, he provided the lamb, “And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son” GENESIS 22:13.

Divine assignment will always have divine provisions. No matter how difficult it may be naturally, if one takes the step of faith and launch into the depths of God, He will provide Himself the necessary ingredients. He is able to make make all grace abound, He is able to make us sufficient in every good work He sanctions. Faith in Him is the key. All you do is trust and obey. You will never be the same again. In The Name that is above all names, Jesus Christ, Son of The Living God. Amen and Amen!
